Listening Wellness Center | Karate
Listening is a non-profit center whose mission is to promote wholistic health and wellness for the Central Massachusetts community. The name Listening is inspired by a Chinese acupuncture point. This point helps you to hear outside sounds and your inner, intuitive voice — creating balance between inner and outer, active and quiet. This harmony is the road to health.

Goju-Ryu is one of the major styles of Japanese Karate and is widely practiced all over the world. It is well known for its strong self-defense (Goju’s combination of “hard” and “soft” techniques allow a weaker person to defeat a stronger one), as well as its character building qualities. The training features two types of meditation, one is practiced while sitting (zazen) and the other while moving (taizen). Specialized breathing methods are also taught. Emphasis is on uniting body, breath, and mind into a single cohesive unit. Traditional Goju-Ryu Karate is practiced as a way of life, with physical and mental benefits that continue well into old age.
Come in and see for yourself what Karate is all about in a safe and friendly environment that allows you to learn at your own pace. Adults will learn to improve fitness and flexibility, and relieve stress, while gaining confidence from learning how to defend themselves.Children learn confidence, concentration, and self-control, along with balance, coordination, and improved self-esteem in a positive social environment.
All adults, and children 7 years old and up, are invited to come in and try out a free class. No prior experience is necessary. Bring a friend along to practice with! Please call Brad directly to inquire at (978) 355-6196 or email him at gojuryukarate@aol.com
